Why a Park?

It is in the Parks that the internal work is carried out, a set of studies and practices which allow access to experiences of contact with the hidden inner world. The Parks of study and reflection are places for meeting and for the spreading of a new spirituality that rejects all forms of violence and discrimination; a spirituality that appeals to that sacred dimension of the human mind to find freedom and meaning. Every human being, no matter their beliefs, may participate in this emotional, moving and experiential path. For many, these Parks become places that translate a time and space loaded with meaning.

Parks of Study and Reflection are places for all who want to stop in present hectic times and look for answers about the meaning of life, overcoming of pain and suffering, about future… Parks are places of gathering and of getting in touch with the best in us and the best in others.

Places meant for reflection but also for studying and growth and progress of man and of non-violent humanist sensitivity and culture.

Who is it for?

It is for anybody and everybody who wishes to search for the ‘sacred’ within their hearts and discover a deeper and true meaning of their lives. Since ancient times we human beings have perceived the trajectory of our life and its finiteness. We ask ourselves where we’ve come from and where we are going, and we experience the search for meaning, while also feeling the need to overcome pain and suffering. And every time human consciousness has managed to glimpse the profundity of the Mind, inspired answers have arisen and great forces have been released. The rapture of falling in love, the inspiration of artists, and the ecstasy of the mystics, all have their source in those common depths. The great religious and spiritual currents that have grown through history were also born from these “sacred” experiences. Of course, one understands these deeply felt experiences as the result of dedicated work – as a harvest of a process.
There are innumerable intermediate steps from: simple relaxation and guided imagery to more complex studies such as Disciplines and Asescis which make the process interesting and worthwhile. Furthermore, groupal activities and projects bring in enriching experiences while working with others in the spirit of continuous and simultaneous personal and social transformation. All in all a complete package for development in all sectors of life: personal, social and spiritual.
Anyone can participate and partake in this gigantic human project rooted in over 50 parks (and counting) world-wide.
We are volunteers who opt to build a better world for ourselves and others in a conscious and cooperative effort of humanization that we all, future generations too, benefit from a humanized world, a world better than that we inherited!
Enquire of us, examine our proposals. Join us and embrace a dignified cause!

Our Founder

silo-kandroli-park

Silo is the spiritual guide who is arising in these convoluted, violent and hopeless times. His message is simple and at the same time profound. His work transcends all frontiers and his followers are found in the most diverse cultures on all the continents.

Silo, an Argentinian author, philosopher and guide to millions, was born in Mendoza, Argentina, on January 6, 1938, under the given name of Mario Luis Rodríguez Cobos. He died in the same province on September 16, 2010.

At the end of the ‘60s when he was 30 he built and lived in a stone hermitage at the intersection of the Tupungato, La Plata, and Aconcagua mountain chains, and on May 4, 1969 he descended to Punta de Vacas, an outpost on the Argentine-Chilean border, where he gave his first public speech, “The Healing of Suffering”.

A few years later, he wrote The Inner Look, giving his testimony about how it is possible to convert the non-meaning of life into meaning and fulfilment.

Translating a mystical experience into a project for humanizing the earth, he launched the Humanist Movement, which inspired the birth of a series of social, political, and cultural organisations promoting disarmament, unity among all peoples, peace, and nonviolence, not only at the social level, but also at the personal and interpersonal levels.

In 2002, heralding the dawn of the first planetary civilization and the awakening of a new spirituality, he released the book Silo’s Message, offering explanations, procedures, experiences and meditations that facilitate contact with one’s innermost self.

Since that time, Parks of Study and Reflection have opened on the five continents for meetings, experience, study, and dialogue. Silo’s last public appearance was in Berlin in 2009, when he spoke for the World March for Peace and Nonviolence. His work is available in written, video and audio format at www.silo.net.
